Anger actually helps us
deal with things that we feel emotional about. When we express anger, we
increase our chance of success when we negotiate for a positive outcome.
It helps with feeling more optimistic when there’s a possibility of
success. It also helps motivate others, and our health is also improved
because we are dealing with the situation rather than keeping it inside
and creating stress. Anger helps with that creative side of our self so
that we can be more creative in problem solving.
To increase our odds of
a good outcome it is helpful prefacing angry comments with, I’m not
feeling very comfortable right now, so I’m not in the best mood to let
you know how I feel, but it is important for me to say that .... The
person will be more caring about you and will be more empathetic rather
than act defensively.
